Our residents, their families, and staff, together comprise a team whose shared input is at the heart of everything we do. I contacted Tom for advice regarding the Fair Deal Scheme as my mother required full time care in a nursing home. Tom's advice was invaluable, his knowledge was exceptional and he was very understanding at this difficult time. I would not hesitate in recommending his services to anyone finding this process daunting. Be warned don’t take advise from persons not qualified to give it as the implications of not completing your Fair Deal application correctly can have serious financial consequences for applicants and their estates. Mary has over 35 years in General Nursing, A/E nursing, Gynaecology, Surgery, and 15 years as a clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability.
We recently contacted Tom for help with the Fair Deal application process for our father. Although it is a process that can be quite daunting & ambiguous at times, Tom expertly guided us through. His response rate was extremely prompt at all times and he really went above and beyond for us. Many people fear the Fair Deal due to not understanding its rules and by listening to advice from persons who are not qualified to give it or have a comprehensive knowledge of how it works.

Darraglynn Nursing Home is approved by the Nursing Home Support Scheme and major private health insurers. Darraglynn Nursing Home is a family run business founded by the late Mary Lucey in 1986. It is an 18 bedded private nursing home situated 2 kilometres from Douglas village and 6 kilometres from Cork city close to all amenities.
Coral Haven Nursing Home Located over three floors, we have 52 single en-suite bedrooms including 4 double en-suite bedrooms. Each floor has a separate Day Room, Dining Room, and Care Station. Coral Haven also has an Activities Room, Main Kitchen, Hairdressing Salon, Laundry Room, and an Oratory. We accommodate both female and male residents primarily over 65 years of age with the following care needs, General Care, Respite Care, Dementia Special Care, and Palliative Care.

Within Kenmare Nursing Home, our resident’s rights to privacy and choice are respected at all times. All our residents will be treated with the dignity that they deserve. Kenmare Nursing Home caters for Long & Short term care, Post – operative care, Physically disabled, Terminally ill, Convalescent, Acquired brain injury, Dementia & Alzheimer’s care.
Our convalescence care can assist with recuperation and recovery after surgery, or serious illness. On average people convalesce with us from two to six weeks, but people can be discharged from care sooner depending on their health status and recovery. We pride ourselves on our Activities Programme, which co-ordinate outing and activities for our residents. We have enjoyed Arts & Crafts, visits to the Beach, Card Games and Bingo and are looking forward to many more.

Should you wish to bring some personal effects e.g. photos, paintings, your favorite chair, this is encouraged within reason. Douglas Nursing Home is a purpose built ground floor facility with single rooms, single en suite rooms. All rooms have hot and cold water, television point, telephone point and call bell. The rooms are decorated in a homely way and residents are free to bring in their own effects and small furniture to make it their own. The team at Maryborough Nursing Home strives to provide a high-quality service to all residents. This involves being open for discussion with all residents and their families.
Our staff complete an induction process and have mandatory training in Health and Safety , Manual Handling , Fire Drills, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safety. We specialise in providing qualified Home Carers to older people... With a number of lounges for residents and visitors offering a peaceful nook to take in the views.
Brookhaven Healthcare which was established in 2005 is a family run organisation dedicated to the provision of high quality services to all residents in its care. Our goal is to create a home from home for all residents and to ensure that everyone in our care continues to enjoy their life to the full. We provide specialist care for people living with dementia, with a focus on promoting independence.
We also cater for special occasions like themed evenings or celebrations in our Home. We have a single storey 25 beds purpose-built residence with large car parking facilities situated 2 kilometres from Douglas village and 6 kilometres from Cork city close to all amenities. In 2016 a state-of-the-art large extension was completed incorporating 10 new bedrooms, treatment room, laundry, offices, staff room, nurses’ station, and enclosed garden. The existing building was renovated to reflect the ambiance of the new built. Their nursing home is beautifully situated and located close to all the local amenities. Their qualified staff provide 24 hour nursing care and their facilities represent a home away from home for the resident.
They have 21 single rooms, eight twin rooms and one triple room, most of which are en-suite. They have a kitchen and dining area, three day rooms, an outside patio area with seating and a garden to enjoy in fine weather. All laundry being done in the home must be labelled with the resident’s name.
